Beliefs

Our Creed

These are the only "non-negotiable" beliefs. The Nicaean Creed is the outline of the original faith. If you believe these statements and want to follow Jesus then you are in!

1.) I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. (Gen.1:1)

2.) And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God (Luke 1:28),

Begotten of the Father before all ages (John 1:1-2 & John 3:17)

3.) God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made (John 10:30 & John 1:3).

4.) Who, for us men for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary (Luke 1:31-35),

5.) And was made man (John 1:14)

6.) And was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate (Matt.27:22-25)

7.) He suffered and was buried (Matt. 27:57-61)

8.) and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures (Luke 24:7)

9.) And ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father (Acts 1:11)

10.) And He shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end (Luke 1:33 & II Thess. 4:16-17)

11.) And I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father (John 15:26)

12.) Who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets (John 4:24)

13.) And I believe in One Holy Catholic (Catholic = universal) and Apostolic Church (started by the Apostles). I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

What about sins, tradition, etc.?

Members of Christ's church definitely hold positions about what is sinful, the value of the tradition of the Christian faith, social problems, and more. We are not interested in trying to control people's thoughts. We are interested in helping them be more Christ-like. The sins of this world and social problems would disappear if everyone lived as Christ. As one progresses on their walk towards Christ, their social positions will eventually model those that Christ would have held.
