What to Expect

First time coming?

Like any good host, we want you to feel welcome and at home. We know that your first time at a church might bring up some questions, so feel free to reach out to us or check out some frequently asked questions below!

FAQs

Here are some answers to our most commonly asked questions...

What are services like?

Our service is modeled after the Tridentine Mass of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The priest prays the mass in English. The actual mass lasts between 30-50 minutes. There are no requirements for you to know any responses or say anything during the mass. You are there to celebrate the Eucharist in community with your fellow Christians.

After the mass there is time in the front for fellowship, coffee, donuts, and more. Of course, nothing is required but you are always welcome to talk with your fellow believers, the pastor, and the staff during this time!

When should I arrive?

You can arrive up to 30 minutes before Mass and pray. Some people choose to talk in the front with others before Mass. There is no requirement for you to do anything before or during Mass.

What about my kids?

Children are a vitally important part of any faith community. Children are encouraged to come to mass and attend just like everyone else. Children can make some noise. Crying and fidgeting are their unique way of "praying".    :)

Who do I wear?

You are welcome to wear whatever you want to our mass. Most people wear comfortable and appropriate attire. Whatever you would wear to meet with Jesus is what we recommend. Some wear slacks and button up shirts while others wear athletic apparel.

Do I have to give an offering?

Of course not! We do not even pass a collection plate during mass. Instead, we provide offering boxes positioned conveniently on the walls, so people can give if they’d like. Many people use our online giving option as well. Any offerings we receive support the full range of ministries we offer in the church and community, and around the world.

As our guest, we want you to come and get to know us, without feeling any pressure to have to give.

Will I be called out for being a guest?

No, we’re not going to call you out, make you wave, stand up, or dance.

However, we’d like to encourage you to fill out a Connect Card. If you do, we’ll follow up with you via email. We promise not to put any unfair pressure on you to ever come again. Although, we hope you will!

All first time guests receive a small gift as our way of saying that we’re really glad you came. To pick yours up, drop by the connect table after the service.

We’re excited you’re considering joining us. We can’t wait to meet you!

Can I take communion?

Yes. We are not interested in the "wafer wars" that some churches engage in.

It is wise for you to be a baptized Christian who believes in the Nicaean Creed but we will never deny anyone the body of Christ.
